Dr. Rebekah R. Frost is a 2005 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and a Chautauqua County Native. She is proud to be the new owner of the clinic and has quite the legacy to live up to! She enjoys surgery, dentistry, and diagnostics. Dr. Frost resides near Sinclairville with her husband Daryl, children Caden and Mikenna and one on the way. Her pets include three horses, two dogs, five cats, chickens and a goldfish. She enjoys horseback riding, hiking, and biking in her spare time.
Dr. Paul K. Carlson is a 1972 graduate of the Cornell Veterinary College. Also a Chautauqua County native, he graduated from Cassadaga Valley Central School. He moved to Dunkirk and opened the Dunkirk Animal Clinic in 1976. He built the current animal hospital in 1986 to accommodate the growth of the practice. Dr. Carlson has a strong interest in surgery, dentistry and ophthalmology. He and his wife Roseann reside in the town of Dunkirk. They have 3 grown children, 7 grandsons, and one granddaughter.
Dr. Culverwell is a native of Chautauqua County and a 2003 graduate of Cassadaga High School. He attended Ross University and Colorado State University where he received his doctorate of veterinary medicine in 2011. He excels in small animal medicine and surgery and enjoys diagnostics including ultrasonography. His hobbies include hunting, camping, and cooking. He enjoys spending time with his two dogs Kitt and Jasmine. Please help us welcome him back home!
<<< Linda is our Office Manager, and has been with our Clinic for 24 years. She attended Jamestown Business College and lives in Fredonia. She enjoys camping and spending time with her husband Gary, daughter Jessica, and their cat K.C.
>>> Michele is our afternoon receptionist. She attended JCC and Fredonia State College. Michele lives in Irving with her husband Phil, son Justin, and their six dogs and three cats. She enjoys spending time with her dogs, traveling, and visiting her daughter and grandchildren in Virginia.
<<< Kath has been our Surgical Assistant for 17 years. Aside from all things feline, her interests include gardening, crafts and collecting cookbooks. She lives in Jamestown with her husband Jerry and her cats Lizzie and Benny. We call her the “cat whisperer” as she can tame any fractious feline!
>>> Cheryl is a Licensed Veterinary Technician and our inventory manager. She is a 1983 graduate of SUNY @ Delhi’s Veterinary Technology program. She lives in Cassadaga, NY, with her husband three children, two dog and two cats. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at her daughter’s school, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She is also a very talented artist and has used her craftiness to provide clients with beautiful hand painted paw print memorials and many other client education materials.
<<< Jessica is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She received her Veterinary Technician degree in 2007 and a 2008 Bachelors degree in Biology from Medaille College. She enjoys spending her spare time with her two yellow labs, Chance and Logan, her Beagle Clark and her cats Boston and Pickles. She is extremely dedicated to her job and a very talented technician.

She also has a Bachelor’s degree in History & Psychology from the College of Idaho. In her spare time, she enjoys fly fishing, swimming, reading & hiking in the great outdoors. Her pets include two very spoiled cats named “Momma Kitty” & “Ashes” & one rat called “The Varmint”.
<<< Mary is one of our Animal Caretakers. A native of Pennsylvania, she graduated from Penn State with two degrees in the environmental field. She lives in Fredonia with her two dogs and two cats. Mary greatly enjoys animals, the outdoors and international travel.
<<< Heather is one of our Animal Caretakers. She graduated from the Great Lakes Institute of Technology and is a certified Veterinary Assistant. She is a very hard worker and is very good with all animals. She lives in Brocton with her two pugs Maggie and Lucy.
>>>Mystery is one of our kitties on staff. She was an abandoned kitty who was diagnosed with intestinal health issues. We have found a special diet for her and you can find her now happily purring in our reception area!
<<< Ashes has been adopted! She came to us after a harrowing experience involving a home fire. You can read about her remarkable story in our “Pet of the Month” section. She is a rambunctious and lovable soul.
>>> Bigfoot (aka Toes) The staff of the Dunkirk Animal Clinic is saddened to announce the passing of Bigfoot from complications of liver disease. He was found as an injured stray kitten in 1993 and had been at the clinic ever since as our official greeter and mascot. He was a happy, curious, and sometimes mischievous cat who was blessed with 26 toes. Over the years, thousands of clients and patients got to know him. He had a good life and was well loved.
